Duty Parent’s Daily Routine

During Snack/Circle Time:

Disinfectant snack tables before and after each group has had snack using disinfectant spray
Empty all water play
Wipe all table tops and counter surfaces using disinfectant spray
Clean and disinfect washroom Wash glue/paint brushes.
(Mon/Fri Class-during circle) Vacuum larger activity room. Vacuum is stored in the office

While We Are Preparing for Outdoors:

Assist children with dressing for outdoors (One parent in each group of cubbies please)
Please come outside with us as soon as the above duties are completed.

After Most of the Children Have Left Return indoors to:

Sweep and mop all tile floor (please use designated floor cleaner)
(Mon/Fri Class) Vacuum smaller activity room
(Tues/Wed/Thurs) Vacuum all carpeted areas

Please remember to change the master schedule in the school (on the bulletin board near the sink) if you have made any changes to your personal duty schedule. Each family is required to cover the same number of duty days. Paid substitutes are available if you cannot find someone to switch days with.

No siblings may be brought to the class on your duty day. This affects out student ot adult ratio and may put us inviolation of the Ministry Policy.

A valid Police Reference Check (no more than 2 years old) must be on file at the school before your duty day begins. More information on Police Checks can be found here.

If someone else will be doing your duty days for you (i.e. friend, aunt, grandparent,etc.) it is that person who needs to have the criminal reference check done - even if only for one day.

Please note that missing a Duty Day without arranging for a replacement could result in the class being cancelled for everyone that day! Our school license under the Day Nurseries Act does not allow us to operate without the appropriate ration of adults to children.

The following is a list of charges if these responsibilities cannot be met:
Duty Day replacement (less than 24 hours notice) $20.00
Duty Day replacement (more than 24 hours notice) $15.00

** This payment is to be made directly from one family to the replacement family

Missed Duty Day (no replacement arranged - first time) $35.00
Missed Duty Day (no replacement arranged - subsequent times) $50.00
